Three Clemente students participated in a successful Big City Mountaineers/Youth Guidance expedition to the Boundary Waters between the USA and Canada. Ashley Munive, Karina Gonzalez and Michelle Bustamante rocked out a 25-mile canoe trip, complete with portages, leave-no-trace camping, swimming and fishing! The group traveled up to Ely, Minnesota for a week-long journey into the wilderness from August 3 – August 10. The trip provided an opportunity to learn new skills, try new things and build an increased sense of independence and confidence. The girls were seriously amazing in their ability to overcome challenges, remain positive and support one another. Ms. Stein and the rest of the adult team couldn’t be prouder of them!
