Juniors Prepare for the ACT Exam
This week, students are preparing for the upcoming ACT exam on Tuesday, April, 8th. Aside from reminders regarding the test’s structure and importance–students are reviewing content and practicing for the pacing of the test.
Beforehand, students in Mr. Vazquez’s class have been working on argumentation (in efforts to strengthen the skills needed for the ACT essay). DP Lang and Lit I students wrapped up a novel titled Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto. This was their fifth text of the year, and as a result, students produced an ACT style essay centered around argumentation under the case of themes developed throughout the text. English III students concluded their reading of Animal Farm by George Orwell. Their interaction with this text was also centered around argumentative writing.
