Clemente Family Update 3/2/2026

A Vibrant Success at Clemente’s Open House!

A Huge Thank You to Our Future Wildcats!

Last Saturday, February 21, the halls of Roberto Clemente Community Academy were buzzing with excitement! We were thrilled to welcome so many talented scholars and dedicated families to our campus for our Open House.

It was an incredible morning filled with:
  • Interactive Tours: Families explored our state-of-the-art Allied Health, Culinary Arts, and Broadcast Technology labs.
  • Academic Excellence: Our educators shared the unique benefits of being a wall-to-wall IB World School and how our IB Career-related Programme (CP) bridges the gap between graduation and a career.
  • Community Spirit: Prospective students met our staff and current Wildcats to get a true feel for life at Clemente.
To the families who joined us: Thank you for your engagement, your thoughtful questions, and for making the morning so special. We were honored to show you why Clemente is a top choice in the GoCPS process.

It is important that you do not miss this assigned meeting to ensure your course preferences are recorded for the next school year.
Greetings Everyone!

We are continuing with our current units, investigating artists, creating our own work, and practicing our skills with our classmates.

The dance class is investigating American Jazz Dance in Unit 3, exploring how the way we dance is connected to roots in Africa. In the movement room, students have learned steps inspired by West African dance styles and are currently learning dances made popular in clubs in the 1930s.

As we continue our work, please remember that student attendance is directly aligned with their achievement in class. Most of our activities require direct participation in order to practice skills and demonstrate mastery. If you have any questions about your student’s attendance or participation in their arts class, please reach out to their teacher.

Jueves, 9 de abril a las 9am en el salon 314
Jueves, 7 de mayo a las 9am en el salon 314

The following dates were selected for the meetings:

Thursday, April 9 at 9 a.m. in room 314
Thursday, May 7 at 9 a.m. in room 314

The Senior Seminar class is 5 weeks into their Financial Education unit! This week we were discussing long-term saving, investing, and calculating compound interest. Remember, this unit is a graduation requirement. Students must receive a passing grade for this unit in Senior Seminar in order to graduate.

Please reach out to Mrs. Potter (jtpotter@cps.edu) for questions about Senior Seminar and the Financial Education unit.
Did you know that Career-related Programme (CP) students take a class called Personal and Professional Skills (PPS)? In this class, our students in both CTE and DP classes have the opportunity to strengthen their professional skills, engage in language learning, and explore the ethics in their future potential careers. Our PPS teachers, Mr. KZ and Mr. Telchi, integrate important research and communication skills into the classroom to ensure Clemente students step into the workplace and world with a strong sense of self and community.
Sophomores interested in the CP should consider whether this sounds like something they are interested in pursuing next year!
The next and final step of the Personal Project will be for sophomores to practice being reflective by writing about their experience in their final paper, which is due on March 13th. Keep an eye out for later reminders about the last component of this year-long journey!
