Educating global citizens for a changing world

Clemente Family Update 8/30/2021

Block Schedule SY-2020-21-2
Wildcats!

The school is buzzing with excitement and great energy ready for your return! To make your first day as smooth as possible please make sure you read the information below.

Student Schedules:
Please make sure to log in to your student Aspen account to view your student schedule. Please write it down or print it to have with you for the day. If you do not have access to Aspen after you enter please go to the auditorium to receive a copy of your schedule.

Lockers:
Please make sure to look for an email from Dean Tanco with your cellphone and floor locker information. Please make sure to write it down to have with you for the day. If you can't find the email, Dean Tanco will be in the Main Lobby to help find your locker information.

Mask protocols:
All students and staff will be masked at all times, regardless of vaccination status. CDC guidance, based on current research, is that returning to school is safe when everyone masks and avoids extended close contact.

Entry protocols:
We are using two entrances to help avoid "clumping" as students walk into the building.

• Students in grades 9 and 10 will enter through the usual door, Door 2, on Western Avenue.

• Students in grades 11 and 12 will enter from Door 3, also on Western Avenue but closest to Division.

Health protocols:
Students should complete the health screener before coming to school and stay home if sick. If a student gets sick during the school day with COVID-like symptoms, they will be taken to our care room and will need to be picked up by an adult.

At-Home Daily Health Questionnaire:
Students will complete a daily health checklist at home before they come to school using the CPS health screening questions.

The questionnaire will not be submitted electronically.

Parents and guardians will be required to submit a quarterly attestation form in which they agree to perform daily health screening of their students before sending them to school.

The attestation will ask parents and guardians to:
• Agree to screen their child for possible symptoms or COVID-19 exposure at home each
day prior to school
• Confirm that they will not send their child to school if they answer “yes” to any of the CPS
health screening questions
• Inform their child’s school if their child will be absent from in-person class because they
are sick or have been exposed to a confirmed COVID case.
• CPS Daily Health Screening Questions can be found here

Contact Tracing:
To help reduce the transmission of COVID-19, CPS has hired additional dedicated staff to support the intake of cases and provide proper notification. CPS will work in coordination with CDPH to ensure that those identified as close contacts have rapid contact tracing and are connected to city resources such as monitoring and testing. Please note that students or staff who test positive for COVID-19 must continue to notify the district via the self report form.

It's an exciting year to be a Wildcat.

We can't wait to see you!
