FAFSA Prep
On October 1st, 2021 the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will open for students attending college next year. In order to be prepared for the FAFSA, please take the time to gather the following documents:
  • Social Security Numbers for parents and students
  • Federal Tax Return for 2020 (Student and Parents)
  • W-2 forms (Student and Parents)
Students and parents need to create an FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA. The FSA ID is used as a digital signature and is unique for each person. If you already have an FSA ID, you can use it this year. To create an FSA ID or get more information on the FAFSA, check out: https://studentaid.gov/

BHT Information
Back to school can be a stressful time for students. At Clemente, ou team of counselors and social workers are here to support your children in their transition back to school. If you feel like your child could benefit from meeting with a counselor, please complete this form:

Do you need a quiet place to go during Lunch?

...then come to Lunch-Library Study Hall!
Please see me Ms. Townhouse to get a Library Pass before 5th/6th period lunch or during your passing period. You can show your pass to the security guard as your entrance to the study hall when exiting the lunchroom. The Library will be checking passes at the door, so please write your name on your pass and keep it safe throughout the year.

Some expectations:
Being in the Library during Lunch is a privilege. Please be respectful of the space and each other!

Please clean up after yourself a few minutes before the bell rings.
The Library cannot support students who are missing their 5th or 6th period CLASS. You must be in Lunch in order to participate. Schedules will be checked if necessary.
Students cannot leave once they are in the Library. You must make a decision to either stay in the lunchroom or stay in the Library the entire period. This is non-negotiable for security purposes.

Students must enter through the front door of the Library.
The Library is able to welcome around 30 students per lunch period, so if we are full, please try again the next day!
Team 9
This month we will be working on Arithmetic and Geometric Sequences in Math I.

In Unit 1, students will use multiple representations to introduce them to arithmetic sequences, identified by a constant difference, or rate of change, between terms. Arithmetic sequences are immediately contrasted with geometric sequences which have a constant ratio between terms. Unit 1 is written to focus on the comparison and understanding of arithmetic and geometric sequences via the following:
  • Using multiple representations (tables, graphs, story contexts, diagrams, and equations) to show features of each sequence;
  • Creating and identifying recursive and explicit relationships (and equations); and
  • Finding missing terms in a sequence.
Unit 1, Sequences, picks up where students left off in eighth grade, using diagrams and story contexts. Unit 1 is written as two intertwined learning cycles that begin by alternating from arithmetic sequence to geometric sequences, so students can compare and contrast features as they represent both types of sequences with tables, graphs, story contexts, diagrams, and equations. Students learn that both types of sequences can be increasing or decreasing, the graph of an arithmetic sequence is a line and the graph of a geometric sequence is a curve (exponential function). They learn both types of sequences can be thought of recursively using the relationship from one output to the next, or explicitly using the relationship between an input and its output. The different ways of thinking of the relationships leads to different forms for the equations. Toward the end of the first Unit, a third learning cycle incorporates the two types of sequences mixed together so that students learn to distinguish between them and represent both types appropriately. They also use their understanding of the different rates of change in the two sequences to find missing terms.
Ask your student to show you their binder with lesson 1 already completed.
