Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is trying to improve the way it measures and shares information about school quality.
CPS students, parents, teachers, principals, and community members helped design this survey for you to share your priorities on:

- the information you want to have about schools
- the information you believe CPS should use to measure how well a school is doing

Dual Credit Opportunities for Clemente Students!
|
Next Semester, Clemente is partnering with area high schools and Northeastern Illinois University to bring dual credit classes to our school. Students who qualify will have access to two college courses, Latin American History and Ethics, which will be taught during the school day at Clemente. Students will have the opportunity to earn 6 college credits FOR FREE!

College Application Deadlines are approaching!
|
At this point, Seniors should have completed their college applications. Seniors are required to complete 3 college applications and the FAFSA, regardless of their intended post-secondary path. Many college deadlines are in early January and February, so do not miss these deadlines!
|

Why do we require 3 college applications?
|
Colleges and universities are the most direct route to a career. However, students do not need to attend a 4 year college to gain critical job skills. In Chicago, most post-secondary pathways go through our city colleges. Students who are interested in trades, technical programs, and certificate programs will attend City Colleges of Chicago to access these programs. By applying to 3 colleges, we are ensuring that students have options if their first choice plan does not work. Therefore, students do not miss critical deadlines that would leave them without an option at the end of high school. All students, even those who intend to work or enter the military, should apply to 3 colleges to keep all their options open.

Why do we require the FAFSA?
|
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is an Illinois State graduation requirement. All students, regardless of pathway, must complete this form in order to earn their diploma. The state of Illinois instituted this to ensure that all students had access to the financial aid needed to attend post-secondary education.

How do I know if my child has applied to college?
|
Please reach out to your child’s counselor or Mr. Crawley for more information on your child.

- January 4th- Scholarship Presentation in the Auditorium for qualifying students
- January 5th- University of Illinois Application Deadline
- February 1st- UIC Application Deadline

Stop by the Library to pick up an empty spherical, a scoop of glitter, and some glycerin (to make the “snow” slow!) Miniatures and photos are completely up to you!
