Famility Update

Clemente Family Update 4/16/2021

Hello, Clemente families!

Welcome to the 4th and final quarter of the 2020-2021 school year! We’re excited about the chance to have some of you continue to learn with us remotely and some of you to join us through the hybrid model that combines in-person and remote learning.

Earlier this week, we sent out confirmation emails to parents/guardians and students indicating which learning model you selected. Please note that students who chose in-person learning will have the option of changing to remote learning at any time. However, because of the planning required to keep students and staff safe while learning at school, students who chose remote learning are unable to switch to the hybrid model. If a student comes to school who did not choose the hybrid model, we will contact parents to arrange for a pick up.

For those students learning remotely, your weekly schedule during the 4th quarter will continue to look mostly the same as it did in the 3rd quarter. The only change is that Wednesdays, not Fridays, will be our C-days in which you attend all 7 classes.

For those students who signed up for the hybrid model, you too will follow the new schedule only you will be able to attend in-person classes two days each week during most weeks. If we have a five-day week, the schedule will be:

Monday (A-day): 9th & 10th graders hybrid (late start); 11th & 12th graders remote
Tuesday (B-day): 9th & 10th graders hybrid; 11th & 12th graders remote (late start)
Wednesday (C-day): All grade levels remote
Thursday (A-day): 9th & 10th graders remote (late start); 11th & 12th graders hybrid
Friday (B-day): 9th & 10th graders remote; 11th & 12th graders hybrid (late start)

DRAFT 2 RETURN SCHEDULE
Entrance Procedures:
For those students who chose the hybrid model, you will enter the building through Door 3 on Western Avenue beginning at 7:30 am. (This is the door closest to Division Street.) Prior to coming to school, please complete the health screener at cps.edu/healthscreener. You cannot enter the building unless you have completed the screener. We created this video to help you. (insert) You must also be wearing a mask at entry and throughout the day. The one exception will be during your lunch break when you are eating in the lunchroom.

Student Screener Guide
Please line up maintaining 6 feet between yourself and the next person. A member of our security team will be taking student temperatures one at a time before sending you through the metal detectors. You will then pick up a copy of your class schedule with room numbers and go to your assigned lunchroom to wait until your first class begins.

Lunchroom assignments:
9th graders: 4th floor
10th graders: 5th floor
11th graders: 6th floor
12th graders: 5th floor

Please note that we will not be using lockers during the 4th quarter, so you will need to carry all of your belongings with you throughout the day in your backpack.

Additionally, please join me in a schoolwide town hall for families on April 16th 12:30PM - 1:00 PM.

This is going to be new for all of us, and we are here to help you. We’ll all need to be patient as we figure this out together.
