Hello Freshmen students and families!

We are so proud of the resilience you all have shown by showing up and being your authentic selves this school year, despite all of obstacles. We appreciate you all and look forward to rounding the year off with a hybrid learning experience. We are very excited to put names to faces and get to know each other in a more authentic way!

-Ms. Redman

Welcome to the end of 3rd quarter and the beginning of hybrid learning!!! Transitioning into hybrid learning next week can be anxiety inducing and lead to an increase in stress levels. An increase in stress can cause the following:

  • Feelings of fear, anger, sadness, worry, numbness, or frustration
  • Changes in appetite, energy, desires, and interests
  • Difficulty concentrating and making decisions
  • Difficulty sleeping or nightmares
  • Physical reactions, such as headaches, body pains, stomach problems, and skin rashes
  • Worsening of chronic health problems
  • Worsening of mental health conditions
It is natural to feel stress, anxiety, grief, and worry during this transition period. Here are some ways you can help manage your stress and anxiety during this transition:
  • Wake up early in the morning to give yourself time and avoid rushing
  • Know your route before you leave the house
  • Pack your school supplies the night before
  • Complete assignments as they are given so that you don’t have to last minute them
  • Reserve time for yourself to decompress
  • Rake deep breaths, stretch, and meditate
  • Connect with family and friends
  • Start a journal
As we make this transition into the next phase keep in mind that we are all in this together. Reach out to a counselor or other adult if you need to talk with someone. Ask questions any time you have them….and remember to care for yourself and be kind
Clemente Pride Day

On March 19, Roberto Clemente had a digital pride day where students went to different google meets to participate in different activities like the movie room, video game room, yoga room, and anime room. The Freshman class had a pride day about a month before, but this one was different because it was the entire school, which meant more rooms to go and explore and the chance to meet upper classmen.

Pride day was entertaining because you could go into different rooms and try new things or things you enjoy doing with other students and teachers and discuss them. In the rooms you don’t just watch movies, videos, or discuss only the surface of topics, you also discuss why they do certain things in movies or what is the story behind a certain scene or a topic.

One of the rooms I went to was the anime room, in which we did not just watch anime, we discussed why they did things in the show and talked about some of the Japanese culture behind it. In the end the pride day was enjoyable, it can be a wonderful experience for people who have never experienced it. It is great for the school to let us be able to let our hair down for one day to just have fun.

Hello Sophomore students and families!

Congrats on finishing up Quarter 3 with lots of momentum. That means we are nearing the finish line of your second year as a Clemente Wildcat. Take a look at some of the great things you all learned and experienced in Quarter 3 with a look ahead to Quarter 4 from your teachers:

In US History, our students are pairing with peers in communities like Rochester, NY and Liberty, MO. They wrote virtual "postcards" to exchange with these students, talking about aspects of their communities that are important to them. At the same time, our students have been exposed to new and different communities and have discussed the similarities and differences between them. Our teachers have used technology such as Flipgrid and Instagram to connect these students through multiple methods, and the cultural exchange has been amazing to watch! - Mr. Andresen

This Quarter Drama I students have been focusing on learning and experiencing French Theater. We have learned about how France's rich culture and history have impacted their unique style of expression through the performing arts. Our students have been hard at work researching different French theatrical styles and the playwrights that have made a lasting impression on modern theater. Currently students are completing their final project for this unit by presenting their research and performing a notable monologue written by their chosen French playwright. There has been so much creativity and passion shown by some of our students as they have explored story telling through the ages of these important works! - Mrs. Sinsheimer

You’ve made it to the final stretch, Seniors! In one quarter you will be able to call yourself a Clemente graduate! Give yourself a round of applause. You greatly deserve it.

Monday, April 19th begins quarter 4. Some students will be coming into the school building to learn starting on Thursday. The students who remain virtual students will continue their learning in that capacity.

If you are struggling in anyway during this quarter, please make sure to reach out and let someone know. Our staff is always here to help you.

Information on picture days is coming soon! Cap and gown pick up is right around the corner! Be on the lookout!
