Dear RCCA Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and school community,
|
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Devon Morales, Sr. and I am the Acting Principal of Roberto Clemente Community Academy (RCCA). As you may or may not know, I am a proud product of Humboldt Park and Chicago Public Schools. I am excited about the work that we will do together. This current school year presents some unique opportunities and new challenges. We are going to change the narrative by focusing on high achievement for all students, sustaining and building community relationships and branding RCCA as the premier choice for students in Humboldt and Wicker Park and beyond.

This school year we will continue to work to maintain and cultivate RCCA pride. However, this will only be achieved through a cooperative effort by all within our school community. Parents and Guardians, please know how essential you are to the success of our scholars, school and our community at large. Your involvement and support make us stronger and more effective.

Our instructional focus will be grounded in a comprehensive approach to academics, as well as the social - emotional well being of all students. With that said, our work will be led by one critical question: Is it in the best interest of students? When we make decisions and plans for RCCA, we will always put students first.

President Barack Obama said, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” I know that together we are the team that will help shape and change the lives of your scholar(s). Together, we will succeed at making the remainder of this school year the best one yet.

Estimados padres/tutores de RCCA y comunidad escolar,
Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para presentarme. Mi nombre es Devon Morales, Sr. y soy el director interino de la Academia Comunitaria Roberto Clemente (RCCA). Como puede que sepa o no, soy un orgulloso producto de las Escuelas Públicas de Humboldt Park y Chicago. Estoy entusiasmado con el trabajo que haremos juntos. Este año escolar actual presenta algunas oportunidades únicas y nuevos desafíos. Vamos a cambiar la narrativa enfocándonos en el alto rendimiento de todos los estudiantes, manteniendo y construyendo relaciones comunitarias y marcando a RCCA como la mejor opción para los estudiantes en Humboldt y Wicker Park y más allá.
Este año escolar continuaremos trabajando para mantener y cultivar el orgullo de RCCA. Sin embargo, esto solo se logrará a través de un esfuerzo cooperativo de todos dentro de nuestra comunidad escolar. Padres y tutores, sepan cuán esenciales son para el éxito de nuestros estudiantes, la escuela y nuestra comunidad en general. Su participación y apoyo nos hacen más fuertes y efectivos.
Nuestro enfoque instructivo se basará en un enfoque integral académico, así como en el bienestar social y emocional de todos los estudiantes. Dicho esto, nuestro trabajo estará dirigido por una pregunta crítica: ¿es en el mejor interés de los estudiantes? Cuando tomamos decisiones y planes para RCCA, siempre pondremos a los estudiantes primero.
El presidente Barack Obama dijo: “El cambio no vendrá si esperamos a otra persona o en algún otro momento. Somos los que hemos estado esperando. Somos el cambio que buscamos." Sé que juntos somos el equipo que ayudará a moldear y cambiar la vida de su(s) estudiante(s). Juntos lograremos que el resto de este año escolar sea el mejor hasta ahora.
