Let’s check in on Physical Education II…
|
|
Now that students have finished the classroom phase of Driver Education, registering for the 6 hour Behind the Wheel is next. Students who passed with 30 classroom hours will take the permit test at Clemente and work with Mr. Dinella at Juarez HS for their learners permit. Once a student has their learners permit, practice drives with family guardians over 21 and setting up Behind the Wheel drives at Juarez HS can take place.

Now that students are back in the gymnasium we are getting back to burning calories through cardio games, while building on social/team skills. Looking ahead student will go through Sexual Health training which is a CPS requirement all four years. Once finished students will transition to the last PE unit of the school year… beginner DANCE!

What’s Happening in Sophomore Chemistry?

This past week in Ms.Azim’s Chemistry class, students are just finishing up their Unit 4 summative on Acid and Bases. Students have been hard at work researching different branded antacids and then chose their top 4 picks to experiment which is the best antacid to fight against stomach pain aka acid build up!! Students have been honing in on building their analysis and reasoning skills by utilizing “evidence” from their data and gallery walk “research”, a key skill emphasized throughout Chemistry class. After this summative, we will be diving into Unit 5: Balancing Equations and Stoichiometry Conversions :)

With less than two weeks to complete The English Challenge, Parents & Community Members are getting ready to go on a Field Trip to Truman College on Monday, May 16th 9am-12:30. In addition to getting a tour and building a sense of how accessible this is, they will also get their official Truman College student ids! (Lunch will also be provided)

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the next English Challenge, the next English class will start on Monday, May 23rd. Classes will meet twice a week, Mondays & Wednesdays 9-1pm for 3 months. Interested people can join the Field Trip to Truman College. And if they register before the Field Trip, you can get your Truman College student id before classes start!! A menos de dos semanas para completar el Reto de Inglés, los padres y miembros de la comunidad se preparan para ir de Paseo a visitar el Colegio Truman, el lunes 16 de mayo 9am - 12:30. Además de tener una excursión por todo el Colegio y ver que, Si Se Puede, también tendrán la oportunidad de recibir su tarjeta de identificación oficial como estudiante del Colegio Truman!

Por si usted o alguien que usted conoce está interesad@ en participar en las próximas clases de inglés, estas comenzarán el lunes, 23 de mayo. Serán dos veces a la semana, los lunes y los miércoles de 9-1pm por 3 meses. Las personas interesadas también pueden unirse al paseo para visitar el Colegio Truman. Si se registran antes del paseo, también podrán obtener su tarjeta de identificación como estudiante del Colegio antes de que empiecen las clases!
