Educating global citizens for a changing world

Clemente Family Update 2/22/2024

Dear Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s),

The college admissions process has never been more competitive, so it is crucial for students to prepare a strong admissions campaign. This includes getting the highest possible scores on standardized tests like the SAT. Research studies show that students who spend at least 20 hours using a proven test prep program will see a rise in standardized test scores.

To help RCCA students prepare for the SAT, we have partnered with Academic Approach to present “Good Morning SAT where students will work on honing their test prep skills for success on the SAT which will be April 9th-10th 2024 . The program will start Saturday, February 10th 2024 and run every Saturday until April 6th, 2024. We will begin our instruction @ 9AM-12PM. Lunch will be provided.

This program is open to 10th and 11th graders. We are looking for a commitment from those who sign up. This is your opportunity to improve your chances of obtaining scholarships and selective college admittance. There will be a celebration for those that attend all sessions of the program.

Students can sign up here using the link https://forms.gle/grDszU4uQUk1SgXE7

In order to have a successful test prep day, please make sure your student(s):
- Get a good night's sleep
- Eat a healthy breakfast
- Do not stress! Meditate, take deep breaths, listen to music, or exercise to relax.
- Please arrive on time, doors will open at 8AM

Educationally Yours,
Devon Morales, Sr.
Principal

The University of Chicago’s summer pre-college programs bring together a global community of thinkers who ask tough questions and embrace new ideas at one of the world’s great intellectual destinations. We offer a variety of courses in diverse subject areas and engagement levels that match any motivated high school student.
Our Enrichment Programs welcome students who are interested in having a firsthand experience at a research institution with a strong liberal arts curriculum. These programs offer enhanced financial, academic, and social support and opportunities for eligible students. Students selected for any enrichment program will be invited to reside on campus to participate in discussions, workshops, and excursions. They will share experiences and form friendships while learning about the highly selective admissions process and preparing for college and career success.

The deadline to apply for any of our Summer Session Programs is March 5, 2024. To make it easier for you to share information with students, we've also created hand-outs to print and share so students can learn about either the Enrichment Programs or Summer Session generally. More information about our Summer Session programs and the unique intellectual experiences available to high school students can be found on our website, summer.uchicago.edu, and we're always happy to help answer questions at summersession@uchicago.edu.
