As we reflect on half a century of educational excellence, community involvement, and personal development, we pay homage to our namesake, Roberto Clemente, whose legacy of compassion, integrity, and dedication inspires our mission and values.

Roberto Clemente was not just a legendary baseball player; he was a humanitarian and a beacon of hope and resilience for many. His commitment to helping others and advocating for equality and justice resonates with the core values we instill in our students. Local businesses, organizations, and families have been instrumental in providing the support and resources necessary to create enriching learning experiences for our students. These partnerships reflect our shared commitment to uplifting every student and ensuring they have the opportunities to achieve their fullest potential.

The heart of Roberto Clemente Community Academy lies in our hardworking and dedicated staff. Teachers, administrators, and support staff pour their passion and expertise into creating a nurturing and challenging environment for our students. Their unwavering dedication is evident in the personalized attention and encouragement they provide to each student, fostering a love for learning and a desire to excel.

Our students, with their diverse talents and aspirations, are the essence of our school. They bring life, energy, and creativity into our classrooms and the community. Celebrating their achievements, whether academic, artistic, or athletic, fills us with pride and optimism for the future they will help shape.

As we celebrate this 50th anniversary, we look back with gratitude for the journey thus far and forward with excitement to the future we will build together. Our commitment to embodying the spirit of Roberto Clemente, nurturing strong community ties, and fostering the growth of our dedicated staff and talented students remains unwavering.

We invite our community, partners, alumni, and friends to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. Together, we will continue to make Roberto Clemente Community Academy a place where students not only achieve academic excellence but also grow as compassionate and dedicated individuals, ready to make a positive impact in the world.

FAFSA Corrections “In First Half of April”
The ability for students to make updates and corrections to their FAFSA forms will be available "in the first half of April." In order to know if students need to make any corrections, they can check their FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) (the new SAR). This will be important so students do not have more delays to receive a correct financial aid award from their colleges.

The student can view or print their FAFSA Submission Summary by:

  1. Logging in to StudentAid.gov using their FSA ID (account username and password);
  2. Navigating to the account Dashboard;
  3. Selecting their processed FAFSA submission from the “My Activity” page, which will bring them to the Status Center “Details” page; and
  4. Selecting “View FAFSA Submission Summary.”
When in the FSS dashboard, there are tabs under the student’s name. If there is a red exclamation in the “Next Steps,” that means there is something that needs to be corrected. When a student clicks on the tab, there will be directions on what the student needs to correct.

Here are some common corrections to know and be prepared for:
  • The students who manually entered financial information for their parent(s) as a workaround to be able to submit their FAFSA form due to FAFSA form not being available to parents without a SSN. The parent(s) will now need to make the correction and complete their section of the FAFSA.
  • Many students accidentally said “yes” to Question 8 indicating that they only wanted to be considered for an unsubsidized loan. We want students to be considered for all financial aid, if possible!
  • A student or parent might not have electronically signed the form. (This was often due to a bug in the FAFSA that submitted the form before it could be completed.) Once students can make corrections, they can go back into their FAFSA and check the box to sign the form.
  • SAI is not calculated due to missing family size. This is an issue that FSA has identified. The form did not properly collect the parent household size. The parent will need to initiate a correction to input their family size information manually. The parent should navigate to the financial section and select YES to the question “Has your family size changed since you last filed your taxes?” and then manually enter their family size number. Once the parent has made this change, the parent can submit the correction and the student’s SAI will be calculated.
