We are thrilled to have everyone back in the school building after break and welcome the new opportunities semester 2 offers our students. In English classes, we are starting a unit in which we will be reading and viewing the Shakespeare play, Othello. This play has everything: jealousy, back-stabbing, deceit, love, and revenge. Students will see how authors foreshadow with red, yellow, and green flags in relationships in order to reveal characters’ true natures. Alongside the play students will view the movie “O” and compare the more modern adaptation to the original. At the end of the unit, students will have their own chance to modernize a scene from Othello, act it out, and/or design the set and costumes.

We are excited to see our students engage with this text and bring the play to modern life!

- Senior Picture Days: Still happening the last 2 days of March, we will announce once the photographer contract has been approved and make sure families know the exact dates and times.
- Graduation: We are still waiting for the vendor to be approved. Once approved we will move fast on the contract. Graduation is likely the last couple days of May. We will confirm and send out an e-mail once we know the exact dates and the contract is signed.
- Six Flags Grad Nite: Friday May 4, 2022. Seniors were sent a survey if they wanted to attend. There is a $50 fee. See the Google Classroom (Seniors) for more information.

Welcome back to Semester 2! We are just 17 short days away from the Personal project product due date! By February 2, your final product, whatever you choose to create, should be complete. If you are already done, there's an assignment called Assignment #5 under Classwork--feel free to add a link to your product, pictures of what you created, link to your Slides or whatever you ended up doing as soon as you are done!
