Our 9th graders’ current unit of study has been all about function features. Throughout the unit, students have been building up their understanding of functions through discovering, discussing, and debating their features. Students gather in groups to work towards establishing what function features are, how to identify them, and how to use interval notation to indicate their answers for specific functions. While we have had some uneven growth and a few debates that became a bit heated, overall, our 9th graders are well on their way to having a better understanding of features of functions.

Sophomores are diving deep into Othello by William Shakespeare, in English class. For the next 3 weeks, teaching artists from Timeline Theater, a local theater company, will be entering their classes to do acting exercises and introduce them to the play Boulevard of Bold Dreams, which all sophomores will see live at the end of this month.

Juniors are finishing up their short story unit in English class and preparing for their summative assignment where they will design a podcast show with team members and present or record their episode to the rest of the class. Students are excited to showcase their skills for this final assignment! In the following weeks, we will be moving on to our next unit.
