Hello From the Freshmen Team!
|
Students will receive their very 1st Progress reports. Students have had time to go through “How High School Works”, so next week, students will get the chance to learn how to look at their reports. D/F reports will be pulled on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023. Students that are on this list will have a mandatory 1:1 conversation with the team lead, and success agreements will be made to monitor student progress. Conversations will be scheduled beginning Monday, Sept. 25, 2023.

PSAT is NEAR. October 23, 2023 will be forthcoming. All students should be sure to begin practicing skills on KHAN Academy as will be scheduled in Google Classroom/ English Class.

This school year is moving swiftly with Quarter 1 Progress Reports already being locked in. Junior year is usually considered the most difficult and impactful year in high school and we want students to be as successful as possible. This is a good opportunity to check in on how classes are going and to establish goals for improvements or for continued success (something students were tasked with in their physics class this week).

The PSAT/NMSQTwill take place October 23rd at Clemente for juniors. This exam is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and while it is not the full and complete SAT, this test is used for awarding merit-based scholarships to students across the country. PSAT tutoring is being offered Thursdays with Ms. Roland in Room 821 but students need to reach out in order to attend. Students can stop by and check-in with Ms. Roland or send an email to grroland@cps.edu to confirm practice times. Free online resources and supports are available as well through https://www.khanacademy.org/ as well as complete practice exams with answer explanations and support through https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/practice-preparation/practice-tests .

If you need assistance with the FAFSA, see your counselor or Ms. Potter! Make an appointment! FAFSA is not out yet, but it will be soon! Make sure you get your social security number or alternate ID, and your tax forms ready from this past year!

Senior photos: We have contacted the photographer and the contract has been sent to Mr. Morales for approval. Once the document is signed, we will release the date for senior photos. It will be in Semester 1. (Yes, there will be an option for full-body poses, more info once we confirm date and contract)

Yearbook: Yes there will be a yearbook. More on this later! The contract will be sent to Mr. Morales this week! Once we have more info we will let you all know how to order!
