Happy Friday Clemente Families,

This for any student who is interested in playing sports this next school year. As such, Clemente will be offering summer conditioning for the following sports:
  • Football
  • Volleyball
  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Cheer
  • Swim
Please note: Sports options may change depending on enrollment.

Click here to download the required parental release forms (link here) and Conditioning Contact Information form - electronic version link here, paper version link here. If you are not able to print, you may pick up a copy from Clemente Monday, July 13, or Tuesday, July 14th between, 9 AM - 1 PM.

To ensure that we engage our students safely, we are adhering to the following guidelines:

  • Students are limited to 2 hours of participation per day. This can be a combination of conditioning and strength training, workouts, and practices. No competitions are permitted.
  • Summer workouts are voluntary for athletes. There will not be consequences for not participating.
  • Maintain social distance by being at least 6 feet apart, to the extent feasible.
  • Cloth Face Coverings (CFCs) shall be worn at all times when indoors except when an athlete is in the pool. Masks must be worn outdoors whenever social distance cannot be maintained. Participants and coaches are required to have CFCs on their person at all times - including before, during, and after sessions.
  • All participants must sanitize or wash their hands before participating in workouts, and during workouts, as needed. If washing hands, participants should use soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If sanitizing, participants should use alcohol-based sanitizer and rub until hands are dry.
  • Total groups of staff and students occupying the same outdoor space must not exceed a total of 50 per group, including staff. Total groups of staff and students occupying the same indoor space must not exceed a total of 25 per group, including staff. Each group of 50 or 25 will be made aware of their schedule ahead of time, following enrolment. Membership continuity must be strictly maintained and members’ names must be recorded in an accessible place along with complete contact information.
    • Indoor space can only be used for sports and activities that cannot take place outdoors, including pool and weight room use. All sports should hold as much conditioning and practice outside as feasible to cut down on the increased risks related to indoor activities.
    • Weight rooms must be limited to 25% capacity, and it is strongly encouraged that schools limit access to groups of 10 at a time, including staff. If participants cannot remain 6’ apart when in the space, access should be limited accordingly.
  • Once groups of 50 or 25 are determined, students and staff may not switch from one group to another based upon the sport, or otherwise. Groups will be determined prior to or at the start of participation. One student cannot displace another student in a group. Groups of 50 in an outdoor setting must be physically distanced from one another by at least 30’. Groups of 25 occupying an indoor space must be separated by distinct spaces (e.g. gym or pool). Additionally, groups of 25 should continue to practice social distancing (e.g. no more than 12 students on any single court while smaller groups remain socially distanced on the sidelines). Consider forming your groups with fewer athletes if possible.
  • Interactions between groups may not occur. Mass gatherings of more than 50 persons are not allowed under any circumstance. To prevent unallowed interaction, participants will enter the practice area though specified entry and exit points based upon their cohort.
  • Diligently and effectively cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects and surfaces following the guidance of the CDC and IDPH. Staff who are in attendance are fully accountable for all surface cleaning and disinfection.
  • Staff will maintain a daily record of what athletes are participating, when, and what symptoms they may present. Staff will monitor and maintain records for all participants and submit to the principal at the conclusion of each session. See Check-in and Screening Procedures below for details.
  • Athletes must be screened at the start of practice for temperature and symptoms of COVID-19 (fevers, chills, cough, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of taste or smell). If any symptoms are present or become present during the session, they must not participate in practice and should be referred to a health care provider for evaluation and testing. Students must provide written authorization from a health care provider before participating in future sessions if they test positive for COVID-19. Anyone who has symptoms is strongly encouraged to be tested for COVID-19. Here is a list of testing sites.
  • Each student must have a printed release form on file. Printed parental release forms (link here) must be signed by parents and provided to staff upon arrival at school for the first day of programming, and parents must provide updated contact information via the CPS Summer Conditioning Contact Information form - electronic version link here, paper version link here.
Please note: Students will not be able to play unless all forms are completed and turned in.
