|
All synchronous (live video instruction) learning must take place within the Google Suite application. Teachers will provide a google meet link for students for each class period.
|
The Async (asynchronous) Period - This period is for students to work on classwork or homework assigned in the live classwork. This time is for students to connect with their teachers to get extra help on an assignment or to review class and homework. Students will be able to log in to their classroom teachers’ Google Meets.
|
Teacher office hours is for PARENTS/GUARDIANS and Students to connect with their classroom teachers via Google Meets. Please reach out to teachers directly for their office hour links.

Attendance During Remote Learning
|
|
Just as during a normal school day, students will be expected to attend and participate in each of their classes. Teachers will use a variety of methods and activities to engage students during each class period. Students must participate in activities to be marked present for the class.
|

We’re excited to start the school year with the class of 2024! The time will go a lot faster than you think, and we’re excited to be a part of your journey. We are already looking forward to seeing you cross the stage in 2024!

Just as a friendly reminder: we are in this together. We are all learning how to do education virtually. Let’s all be gracious during this new adventure. Your teachers ask that you please keep in contact with them if a problem arises with technology or schedule conflicts. We’ll do our best to accommodate your situation. We’re all trying to balance this new way of life right now.

Orientation was such a great experience for us to learn about each other. Thank you for those who attended and participated. Amid this crazy time, your teachers and staff have been working really hard to prepare a fantastic year for you. Sophomore is incredibly important and signifies your halfway mark through your high school experience. We wish we were greeting you at our classroom doors on Tuesday, and will just be greeting you in Google Meet this year!

Please make sure you join the Sophomore Grade Level Google Classroom that you all received an invitation to for more updates. You should add your parents/guardians so they can stay informed as well. Hi juniors and junior families! We are so excited to welcome you all back to school, even if we won’t get the chance to be in the physical classroom together at the start of this year. Regardless of where we are, the junior team has been working hard to get ready for the school year, learn new technology and interactive tools and reimagine what learning looks like in the virtual world.

We were able to go over a lot of information and questions are our junior orientation yesterday. Thank you to those who made it--it was great to see your faces or your goofy avatars. The time has finally come - your LAST year as a high school student. Our team is excited to work with each and everyone of you. Senior Parents- Prepare for the FAFSA!
|
The first step in completing your financial aid documentation is to gather all of our information to complete FAFSA. In order to complete the FAFSA, you need:
|
- The Parents and student’s Social Security Number, if they have one
- Parents and student’s tax return from 2019, if you filed taxes
- Parents and student’s W2 from 2019, if you had a job
- Estimate of the amount of money you have in your bank account
The FAFSA opens on October 1st, 2020 at midnight
|
You need the following information to create your FSA ID:
|
- Social Security Number
- Email address
- Personal address and phone number
|
Do You Have Concerns about your schedule?
|
The scheduler has created pods for the 9th-grade class that can seamlessly transition into in-person instruction. Because of the pod structure, very few schedule changes will be granted. On September 14th, the schedule change request form will go live. If you would like to change your schedule, you may complete this form. However, be advised that this is a request, and not all requests will be approved. The scheduler will do her best to accommodate your requests while keeping everyone safe.
|
The schedule change form will be sent to all students on September 14th. If you think there is an error on your schedule- such as 2 of the same classes, a class you have passed before, or the wrong grade level, not including PE or JROTC- you may complete the Schedule Error Form.
|

Need your Transcript for your Permit?
|
The Secretary of State will only accept printed copies of your transcript. If you have a printer and need a copy of your transcript, please email your counselor. If you need one printed, please contact the main office at (773)534-4000 or emailing Ms. Garcia at bgarcia@cps.edu.

Need to Complete Credit Recovery?
|
|
If you have failed a class in the past, lookout for an email from your counselor! Credit recovery programs have not been finalized, but counselors will notify you that you with need credit recovery in the coming weeks.
|

This year will be a unique and different year for most students, but IB education is just the type of education needed for moments like this. Instead of focusing on memorization, and content, IB education focuses on developing the whole person. Through skills like Approaches to Learning (ATL), students will be able to grow in their organization, time management, and social skills. Click here to see a full list of the ATL skills.
