Team 9
Freshmen

Congratulations on completing your second week of Remote Learning! Make sure you utilise your Remote Learning Pad document that you completed in the Freshman Seminar course. Take a deep breath and remember you're doing great! Also let a teacher know how much you appreciated their class this week. Encouragement goes a long way as your teachers are trying to figure this out with you. Also thank you for being patient with us. We look forward to getting to know you more this school year and teach you.

If you are struggling with online learning, feel free to reach out to Mr. Huerta (ahuerta36@cps.edu), one of your classroom teachers, or any other staff member!
Team 10
Wildcats!

I hope that you all are feeling strong after your first full, 5-day-week in Remote Learning! Your teachers have loved seeing and hearing from you and the feedback has been largely positive. Are you struggling with keeping your links in order? Don’t forget about the RL Launchpad that is posted on the Sophomore Grade Level Google Classroom.
Did you know that your teachers have office hours during 9th period? Ask your teachers for their link and/or find it on the 2nd period on the RL Launchpad.

Your Sophomore Teachers
Team 11
Hey juniors!

Great work on knocking out two weeks of virtual learning already. You all are doing great and hopefully, hitting your stride in a new environment.

Are you hoping to get more tapped into information and announcements from the junior teachers and staff? Please join the Junior Grade Level Google Classroom here to stay in the loop and access the Junior RL Launchpad, where you can organize your information about classes, if you haven’t done so already.

Want to make your virtual school life a little easier? Here are some tech shortcuts:
  • Copy = control + C
  • Paste = control + V
  • Undo = control + Z
  • Find something (in the text or on a page) = control + F
  • Mute/unmute on Meets: control + D
Are you finding it hard to sleep? Do you feel like your eyes are tired or strained? Do you finish the day with a headache? It could be due to the blue light from your computer and phone.

Some tips to help:
  • The "20-20-20" rule: Every 20 minutes, focus your eyes on an object at least 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
  • Don’t look at a screen an hour before bed.
  • Turn evening mode on your phone and computer, if that’s an option on your device.
Important Dates
• October 9: Five week progress reports come out!

  • Foreman: A-G

IB News
Congrats and welcome back Wildcats! Although we have been an IB World School for several years, we have had a lot of changes in terms of how we approach curriculum at Clemente. We’d like to share some of IB’s fundamental tenants with you in the next few weeks.

You might be asking: What exactly is IB? What is the Learner Profile? What are the differences between the MYP, DP, and CP?

We aim to answer those questions for you in the next few weeks through a series of short videos you can watch on your own!

Questions about the IB Programmes? Feel free to contact us!
