As you know by now, we changed to a block bell schedule for remote learning. Every day research is being done and published all about remote learning. This new research teaches us that a block schedule that includes synchronous and asynchronous learning is what is best for kids, teachers, and education right now. We have created tools to help set you up for success like the Block Schedule Launchpad that is posted in the Sophomore Grade Level Classroom page for each of you (see below).

We encourage you to bookmark this launchpad (Ctrl + D), print it out, and/or write it down in a planner so you can keep yourselves organized. If you’re confused, please watch this video that explains the day-to-day schedule and the reasons why we changed: English video Spanish video

Counseling News
Students, teachers, and staff alike are feeling uneasy and anxious during this hectic time in our country and in the world. A tool that may be helpful to you is the circle of control. We are not in control of so many things in our lives, but we are in control of ourselves. With so much focus on the world around us, it can put our minds at ease to spend some time focusing on what we do have control over. You can think or write about this, and you can even draw your own circle of control!

IB News
Every 5 years, visitors from the International Baccalaureate program will visit schools to Re-Authorize the school in their IB status. This year, Clemente’s visit will take place on October 21st-23rd. IB will meet with administration, IB Coordinators, teachers, deans, parents, and visit classrooms to get a pulse of the school.

This year, due to COVID-19, the visit will be remote. At the end of the visit, Clemente’s IB visitors will give us feedback that will be used to improve our school.

Have questions or concerns about reauthorization, email MYP Coordinator Adam Hoover (achoover@cps.edu) or DP Coordinator Andrea Kulas (akulas@cps.edu)
