Post-sedcondary
Hey, Class of 2021,

I hope that your week is getting off to a great start & that this email finds you well. I won’t be long this time I just want to remind you of a few of things:

Make sure that you have done your FAFSA questionnaire that Ms Mueller sent you so we can help you get the help that you need. If we know where you are in the process and what you have done, then we will know how to help you.

The second NACAC Virtual College Fair is coming up on Monday, October 12th, 2020 from 1 pm until 9pm. Now is a great time to get more information about colleges that you are interested in so that you can apply and add them to your FAFSA. If you attended the last Virtual College Fair you created an account for and you can login and register to the upcoming fair. If you did not sign up yet, you can register for the fair.

If you have any questions, please let me know. See you soon!!

1st quarter progress reports should be hitting your mailbox soon. If you are interested in checking out your student’s progress please access it through the Parent Portal on ASPEN (Parent Portal tutorial).

9th grade is often when students establish strong routines and behaviors to successfully navigate high school. Making sure that students are on time, prepared, and engaged can help them start their high school career on solid footing.

While these are important success factors, the Clemente Freshman Team’s focus this year is B’s or better in all of Freshman coursework (core and non-core classes). The quarter ends November 5th. That means your student has about 4 more weeks to make sure they have B’s or better this quarter.

Important Dates
11/05/2020 - End of Quarter 1

Hey junior Wildcats!

If you can believe it, we are five weeks in to Quarter 1! Progress reports come out this week, which means we have just five weeks remaining in the quarter.

We also have our Quarter 1 Town Hall this week to give you all important information and key updates. If you did not make it to the Town Hall or want to review some of the info and links that the junior team shared, the Google Slides are linked here. Some of the next steps for juniors were:
  • Fill out the Student Survey from our Behavioral Health Team → some of you may have filled it out already in English so if it looks familiar, you do not need to do it a second time!
  • Add the Junior GL Classroom to stay looped in to any information we share there! The link to join is here!
  • Finally, fill out the events survey that we shared in the Town Hall! It will give us an idea of things you are interested in participating in as a junior class and what might be an extra motivation for you to keep pushing in remote learning!
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email any of your teachers or Ms. Dryjanski at gdryjanski@cps.edu.

IB News
October 21st-23rd we will be hosting several members of the International Baccalaureate community as part of our IB self-study. The IB self-study is a chance for us, as a school, to reflect on our implementation of the IB at Clemente.

Therefore, IB will meet with administration, IB Coordinators, teachers, deans, parents, and visit classrooms to get a pulse of the school. This year, due to COVID-19, the visit will be remote. At the end of the visit, Clemente’s IB visitors will give us feedback that will be used to improve our school.

If you have any questions or concerns about reauthorization, email MYP Coordinator Adam Hoover (achoover@cps.edu) or DP Coordinator Andrea Kulas (akulas@cps.edu).
