Thank you
Team 9

Congratulations on making it through your first quarter of freshmen year! High school sure is different from elementary school, but you all transitioned like rockstars!

We know the block scheduling has been an adjustment, and we are looking forward to week 10! During week ten we will have a full week reverting back to the ABABC schedule. We have noticed a big decline in attendance on Fridays and would love to see our freshmen in all classes each day! Let’s beat all of the other grade level’s attendance numbers and let's get to above 80% attendance EVERY DAY next week!

In English I, we are starting our novel unit! We are so excited to be introducing new texts to students and engage in conversations around books! In Ms.Ziemniak and Ms.Redman’s classes we are going to begin reading “American Street!” In Mrs.Potter and Mr.Nadeau's classes we are going to be reading “Song Below Water!” Get your reading glasses out and get ready to experience some amazing writing!

In Integrated Math, we will be working on expressions and equations. We will be making sense of problems and persevere in solving them. Get your calculators ready!

In Civics/Freshmen Seminar, we will be working on analyzing court cases, keeping our eyes on current events and diving into our impact we have on our selves, one another, and society. The jury is in, and their verdict is.. this unit is found guilty of being a great time!

In Biology, Students will be diving into their ecology unit, where they will learn about species interactions, food webs, and the role of humans in our global ecosystem (oh my!)!

In Spanish, we will be learning how to describe ourselves and others in Spanish. In Heritage Spanish we will be looking at social media and marketing this unit! ¡Va a ser un gran momento!

If you are looking to socialize with your peers, sign up for a club! Clubs are in full gear! Also look out for invites from Ms.Redman for Movie Nights!

Quarter two is upon us! Use the next few weeks to solidify your grades! Your semester grade is what makes up your GPA! Remember we are aiming for B’s or BETTER!
Team 10
Hello Sophomores!

Congrats on being 1/4th done with sophomore year! We are all still figuring out the remote world, but I am very proud of the effort many have put in to make this the best education experience possible.

A few reminders as we enter quarter 2:
  • You can still join a club! Use this link to check out all the club options.
  • 5 day weeks follow the A, B, A, B, C day schedule. If we have a week with less than 5 school days, the schedule will look different. Check out this Doc for all of those dates during Semester 1.
  • You should be meeting with your Personal Project mentor and submitting your proposals ASAP! Please keep an eye out for info from your mentor and be responsive.
Please do something to take care of your mental health this weekend. I recommend going for a walk with a mask on, making a to-do list for your upcoming week, meditating, and/or cleaning your living space. All of the above will improve your mental health and stress-levels!

If you need anything, do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers. We are here for you.
Team 12

  • Senior Board sent a survey out on Friday! Please complete it to help inform what virtual events will take place in quarter 2!
  • Colleges are coming in to visit
  • Mr. Crawley is continuing to host office hours for support, please join him for any post-secondary support you need! Go see him on Wednesday’s from 6-8p at meet.google.com/mcr-hcec-xeo
  • If you have not completed your FAFSA, get on that quickly! Get that money! Don’t miss out!!
Despite all these very important announcements, please continue to take care of yourself and others. Your senior team is happy to support you. If you are struggling, reach out to any staff member. We are all going through this together, and we WILL get to the other side of it all.

Hey there Wildcat!!!! Coach Lopez here.

Alumni Class of 2010 and the Captain of the Girls Swim Team. What can I say about myself other than I am a Driven, hard working, Distinct, Wildcat Woman. Humboldt Park is where I come from and I have always been extremely Proud of that.

This year has been different with so many things. We have had to learn to change and adapt our normal to a new Pandemic style of normal. One of the things that changed was our ability to hang out and be in our Respective Sports with our team mates letting loose after a long day.

I’m hoping that maybe I can help you. I am offering,Swim Club and Swim Team after School.
This is one of the only Sports that we can offer in this Pandemic. There are alot of benefits to Swimming that will help you especially if you’re already an athlete. Swimming helps build your stamina and endurance. Swimming is a total body workout that will transform your body and your mind. Swimming is a team sport with a lot of individual events. This sport will challenge you and build mental focus and your own self discipline all while learning something new and trying something different. If there’s one thing that this sport has taught me in all my years it's definitely mental focus and perseverance.

It's necessary for us to have an outlet. It’s necessary to have a Safe Haven. I am hoping that I can help you with that.
