How are you? I hope that things are going well. I wanted to tell you a little about one of the best college fairs that is held every year, the 100 Black Men College Fair. The fair is coming up on Saturday.

100 Black Men of Chicago Inc. is an organization that has been committed to elevating the profiles of African-American young men in Chicago and abroad. Each year 100 Black Men of Chicago hosts a huge college fair to expose, not only Black males but all students to the possibility of attending college, with literally hundreds of colleges attending and providing opportunities for those students fortunate enough to attend.

The great news is that even though we can not meet together for the fair, 100 Black Men of Chicago, in connection with The University of Chicago, is hosting a virtual fair this Saturday, October 17th, from 9 am until 2 pm. It will be a great opportunity to visit many colleges from around the country. There will be many HBCU’s(Historically Black Colleges & Universities) in attendance, along with many prestigious & well-known colleges & universities as well. It is free to attend the fair and because it stretches across 5 hours, you will have an opportunity to visit schools at different times throughout. I can not wait to hear the AWESOME stories that you will share after attending this amazing event.

IB News
October 21st-23rd we will be hosting several members of the International Baccalaureate community as part of our IB self-study. The IB self-study is a chance for us, as a school, to reflect on our implementation of the IB at Clemente.

Therefore, IB will meet with administration, IB Coordinators, teachers, deans, parents, and visit classrooms to get a pulse of the school. This year, due to COVID-19, the visit will be remote. At the end of the visit, Clemente’s IB visitors will give us feedback that will be used to improve our school.

If you have any questions or concerns about reauthorization, email MYP Coordinator Adam Hoover (achoover@cps.edu) or DP Coordinator Andrea Kulas (akulas@cps.edu).
