Hello juniors!

No big updates this week besides make sure you are preparing for the end of the quarter, which is just 9 instructional days away! The end of the quarter is on November 5 and you have November 3 off for Election Day.

What does that mean for you? It means that in your remaining weeks before the end of Q1 and report cards come out:
  • Reach out to your teachers → they are there to support you and can offer you ways to revise work, makeup things that are missing and ensure that you are on the right track
  • Try your best to make it to class everyday → your work time in class and your support from teachers in real-time will set you up for success and reduce the amount of work you need to do outside of class hours
  • Contact your counselors, support staff or coaches if you are still in need of further support → these are resources that we encourage you to take advantage of and people who are invested in your success!
Lastly, if you still have not provided feedback on the junior team remote learning survey, please do! We want to hear your voice on how remote learning is going for you. The link to the survey is here.

IB News
October 21st-23rd we will be hosting several members of the International Baccalaureate community as part of our IB self-study. The IB self-study is a chance for us, as a school, to reflect on our implementation of the IB at Clemente.

Therefore, IB will meet with administration, IB Coordinators, teachers, deans, parents, and visit classrooms to get a pulse of the school. This year, due to COVID-19, the visit will be remote. At the end of the visit, Clemente’s IB visitors will give us feedback that will be used to improve our school.

If you have any questions or concerns about reauthorization, email MYP Coordinator Adam Hoover (achoover@cps.edu) or DP Coordinator Andrea Kulas (akulas@cps.edu).

Hey there Wildcat!!!! Coach Lopez here.

Alumni Class of 2010 and the Captain of the Girls Swim Team. What can I say about myself other than I am a Driven, hard working, Distinct, Wildcat Woman. Humboldt Park is where I come from and I have always been extremely Proud of that.

This year has been different with so many things. We have had to learn to change and adapt our normal to a new Pandemic style of normal. One of the things that changed was our ability to hang out and be in our Respective Sports with our team mates letting loose after a long day.

I’m hoping that maybe I can help you. I am offering,Swim Club and Swim Team after School.
This is one of the only Sports that we can offer in this Pandemic. There are alot of benefits to Swimming that will help you especially if you’re already an athlete. Swimming helps build your stamina and endurance. Swimming is a total body workout that will transform your body and your mind. Swimming is a team sport with a lot of individual events. This sport will challenge you and build mental focus and your own self discipline all while learning something new and trying something different. If there’s one thing that this sport has taught me in all my years it's definitely mental focus and perseverance.

It's necessary for us to have an outlet. It’s necessary to have a Safe Haven. I am hoping that I can help you with that.
