Hello Freshman Families!

Believe it or not, you are now almost done with the first quarter of your freshman year. One down and three more to go! In spite of the challenges caused by the global pandemic we are all living through, your 9th grade teachers remain wowed by your effort, your collective personality, and by the intelligence, kindness, and wit that you each bring to your classroom communities.
As a group, the 9th grade teachers meet twice each month to discuss your performance and your needs with the goal of figuring out the best ways we can support you. We’ve organized ourselves into different teams to help us do that in meaningful ways.
  • Some of us will look at what your attendance, grades, and other outcomes reveal about the effectiveness of how we’ve designed our school for your success and what changes we need to make to improve.
  • Other teachers are meeting to figure out how we can help you build strong relationships with your classmates and teachers to make sure you feel connected and supported during your time at Clemente.
  • A third group of your teachers comes together to design opportunities for you to develop as the talented leaders you are.
  • And, a fourth group of teachers is researching the best way to give you feedback on your work in a way that promotes learning and growth as well as how we as teachers can get feedback on how we are supporting you.
We don’t just think about how to teach you our individual subjects; we spend a great deal of time thinking about how we can bring your voice and experience into Clemente.

Hi Sophomores!

The end of the first quarter is creeping closer. I can’t believe we are a quarter through this remote learning experience! Kudos to all the kids juggling this new world we are all navigating. Shout out to all the parents and guardians doing their best to adjust and support your kids during this time. Your teachers appreciate everyone working together to bring the best year possible to all remotely. Check out the schedule for next week below and reach out to your teachers before the grade cut off to make sure you’ve done everything you can. We aim for A’s and B’s!

Hey, Senior Wildcats!

We have finally made it to the end of the quarter! That means you are 1/4th of the way done with your final year of high school! The Senior team is very proud of the persistence and determination you have shown so far. We know it cannot be easy, and this is not what you imagined for your Senior year! The team is here to support you. Please reach out if you need anything.

Mr. Crawley is continuing to host college visits on a daily basis! Look out for his weekly email with the details included. These visits from college representatives are so important. This can help you decide your future! Make a point to attend.

FASFA is open! Complete it TODAY to ensure you get that money for next year! Don’t turn your back on *free* money!

Grades are finalized for Quarter 1 next week.

IB News
This past week, a team from International Baccalaureate helped Clemente finished their self study. Parents, Students, Teachers, and the LSC all were interviewed to get a better understanding of Clemente’s implementation of the IB program. While the IB team from Columbia, Mexico, Canada and the United States will later leave an extensive review of Clemente, they left Clemente with some positives. It is clear that Clemente has a strong IB program, teachers care about the students, and that the students really care for one another. Clemente looks forward to receiving and implementing the feedback from the IB team, but are also excited about the tremendous growth that has been shown over the past 5 years!

Hey there Wildcat!!!! Coach Lopez here.

Alumni Class of 2010 and the Captain of the Girls Swim Team. What can I say about myself other than I am a Driven, hard working, Distinct, Wildcat Woman. Humboldt Park is where I come from and I have always been extremely Proud of that.

This year has been different with so many things. We have had to learn to change and adapt our normal to a new Pandemic style of normal. One of the things that changed was our ability to hang out and be in our Respective Sports with our team mates letting loose after a long day.

I’m hoping that maybe I can help you. I am offering,Swim Club and Swim Team after School.
This is one of the only Sports that we can offer in this Pandemic. There are alot of benefits to Swimming that will help you especially if you’re already an athlete. Swimming helps build your stamina and endurance. Swimming is a total body workout that will transform your body and your mind. Swimming is a team sport with a lot of individual events. This sport will challenge you and build mental focus and your own self discipline all while learning something new and trying something different. If there’s one thing that this sport has taught me in all my years it's definitely mental focus and perseverance.

It's necessary for us to have an outlet. It’s necessary to have a Safe Haven. I am hoping that I can help you with that.
