Welcome to JROTC, where we try to develop leaders for the future! We recently went through a program of self-discovery called “Winning Colors,” which helps the cadets discover their primary personality trait. For many of them this was a reality check, and they learned not only about themselves but also their peers – discovering how good they were at judging personalities in the process.
In using this program, the cadets learn how to effectively communicate and deal with different personality types, and come to see why conflicts arise and how easily they can be avoided by simply understanding the other person’s personality. The students spent several days with this and came to a better understanding of themselves and others, as well as how to deal with different personalities and still get things accomplished! In relation to the IB Learner Profile, students predominately developed the traits of being open-minded, caring, reflective, and communicators.
