The Clemente Union League Boys & Girls Club would like to send a big thank you to everyone who attended our first 3v3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, October 17th. The event was a huge success, with roughly 100 students attending throughout the course of the evening as either players or spectators. The top three teams received trophies and $30 gift cards to Best Buy, one student won the Sportsmanship Award with a $30 gift card to Best Buy, and teams that were eliminated early were given the chance to play against Union League Associate Board members for the chance to win $5 dollar gift cards to Subway. Our Clemente Cooks club grilled hotdogs and cheeseburgers for tournament participants and our staff did an amazing job managing the 16 team tournament spread across two gyms. So far we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from Clemente students and we’re looking forward to our next tournament!

Honorable mention goes to the fourth place finishers–Teshawn Stokes, Charvale Bass, Jalen Acevedo and sub Dakota White–who, as a team of freshmen, beat out sophomore and junior teams and lost in a close game to the first place finishers. Their composure and teamwork was truly impressive!
