Radio/TV Broadcasting is a 3-year job training program in which students learn how to create and edit a variety of formats, such as music videos and TV news reports. For the last few weeks we have been filming news reports about school events and have been usinglearning how to edit live videos. This week we’ve been filming a news reports about the school’s upcoming musical “Hairspray,” based on John Water’s 1988 film. I feel very excited when I edit these videos because I know they are going to be aired on our school’s TV channel. What really motivates me to get better at editing videos is the hope that my viewers will remember the message of the news report and attend the musical! I also know that this skill will help me in the future to get a job in TV Broadcasting, and I get to learn about something that I love—making movies and videos.
