Clemente Girls Varsity Soccer
The Clemente Girls Varsity soccer team kicked off preseason training during the last week of February. There are a lot of new faces on the team this year, but the returning players have done a great job of keeping the girls motivated and working hard for these past few weeks. The Wildcats are on a quest this season to win the Forth Division-North Conference. The girls have had a good pre-season, which has led to good energy during training sessions. The new players are picking up the concepts rather quickly and making their mark on the team.
One of the most important dynamics at this point in the season are the upperclassmen. They have to be the leaders. They know what is expected of being a Wildcat; it’s not new to them. They have done a fantastic job educating the younger players, which has made for a very good start to the season.
Trying to prepare an entire team to be in game shape has certainly been a challenge, but the obstacle is one that the Girls’ have approached with great attitudes during training sessions.
The girls will start off the Spring Season with an exhibition game against our Division Street rivals, Holy Trinity High School on March 28that 5p.m. at Allstate Field in Humboldt Park. The last time these two teams faced was during last season, when the match ended in a 4-2 win in favor of Holy Trinity.
Don’t forget to come out and support our Lady Wildcats’ soccer team this season!
