Clemente Softball off to a Great Start!
Pitcher Jazlyn Torres threw a no-hitter as the Clemente Wildcats Varsity defeat ITW Speer Academy 15-10. No ITW Speer Academy batter was able to locate Torres’ pitches during the game as she led the team to victory. Torres threw a no-hitter, striking out six batters and walking 14 in the beginning half of the game. When she settled down, the rest was history from there. Her final pitch of the game resulted in a strike out of Destiny Worthy from ITW Speer Academy. The two teams combined for 25 runs and seven hits, including one extra base hit.
The teams traded runs for most of the game, resulting in seven lead changes in the game. The Clemente Wildcat Varsity team took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. A bases loaded walk by Genesi Santos brought Jema Martin to home base and solidified the lead for the Clemente Wildcats. The Clemente Wildcats Varsity team easily handled ITW Speer Academy’s pitching game, as six hitters combined for six hits, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. In the top of the first, ITW Speer Academy grabbed the early lead, 3-0. ITW Speer Academy then tacked on more runs when Arroyo scored on a bases loaded walk and Medina scored on a wild pitch.
