Clemente’s Art I students recently investigated different muralists like Diego Rivera and Leo Tanguma, and the meaning behind their artwork. Afterwards, the artistic wildcats brainstormed different issues currently affecting their community, as well as their country. Many students did research on topics like the Ebola crisis, immigration, politics, and gentrification in their community. Students then used their information to create murals depicting these issues. They were influenced by Los Tres Grandes, as well as Leo Tanguma’s artwork. Their final products were beautiful pieces that show their craftsmanship, as well as their research in the issues they selected.
