RCCA Builds 40 Smart Rooms
Roberto Clemente Community Academy has made a significant investment in classroom technology. RCCA is investing over $150,000 dollars in building 40 Smart Rooms to promote interactive and collaborative classrooms. For those not familiar with interactive whiteboards, they are an interactive display that connects to a computer and projector.With all these devices connected and working together, teachers can capture the attention of learners and encourage involvement in the lesson.Each Smart Room will get a Smart Board interactive whiteboard system, Smart Document Camera and a Smart Interactive Response System.
RCCA teachers will receive comprehensive professional development to help them utilize this technology, enabling them to create engaging and interactive lessons that accommodate different learning styles.
The professional development will cover how to:
• Create interactive lessons
• Use the student response systems to gauge student understanding of content
• Promote collaboration and student interaction in the classroom
