Important Update: Temporary LSC Non-Teacher Representative Vacancy

Dear Roberto Clemente Community Academy Staff,

This email serves as notice of a temporary vacancy for a Non-Teacher Local School Council (LSC) Representative position. We were informed by the Office of LSC Relations that a non-binding staff poll must be conducted to officially fill this temporary vacancy. The selected representative will serve until the term ends on June 30, 2028, or upon the staff person’s return, whichever comes first.

1. Seeking Candidates: Run for the Vacancy

If you are interested in serving our school community on the LSC, please consider running!

• Eligibility to Run: ANY full-time CPS staff person in a role that does NOT require a certification (e.g., school clerk, school clerk assistant, cook III, classroom assistant, special education classroom assistant [SECA], security, porter, etc.) who works at the school for at least 3 days per week.
• Application Process: Complete the online application paperwork and return it to Ms. Floyd.
• Application Deadline: Submit your completed application to the office by August 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Noon).

2. Staff Poll: Who Can & How to Vote

A staff poll will be conducted after the candidate submission deadline. Your vote is essential for properly seating our LSC representative.

• Eligibility to Vote: ALL full-time CPS staff members who work more than fifty percent (50%) of their time at the school, including teachers and Education Support Personnel (ESPs), are eligible to vote.
• Ineligibility: Part-time staff, miscellaneous employees, or those employed by private, non-CPS entities are not eligible to vote.
• Voting Details: The staff poll will occur on August 21, 2026 (8/21/2026). I will communicate the exact time and details for the staff poll soon.
