University Spotlight: Illinois College

Illinois College is located in Jacksonville, IL which is four hours away from Chicago. It is a small liberal arts college that is affordable and has a beautiful campus. Illinois College has an enrollment of 1,000 students with a variety of majors. They also offer more than 45 majors in studies such as humanities, social science and natural science. Illinois College provides internships, community service projects and Division III athletic programs. Full costs for a full-time undergraduate student with room and board is about $38,400.

I chose Illinois College because I liked the fact that they have small classes and they have the major that I am interested in. I met with a representative who came to Clemente, who was able to set up a campus visit and overnight stay in the dorms. Everyone at the campus was very friendly and helpful. Other things that caught my eye are the sports teams and their extra clubs and the fact that the college is four hours away from Chicago, which I like because I have been living in Chicago for 17 years and it would be nice to get away and focus on my studies.
