Wrestling Tournament at Simeon – December 19th
The Clemente Wildcats traveled south to Simeon High School on a cold December morning to compete in the Simeon Bragging Rights Tournament. Accompanied by Coach Matthew Tolene and Coach Brandon Bailys, the wrestlers immediately shook off the cold weather and got down to business at Simeon. Wrestlers’ goals centered on making it to the tournament finals and performing well for the team.
Noah Myers was the top finisher for the Wildcats, placing 2nd. Noah is deserving of a huge congratulations for his excellent effort. The Sophomore Captain Larry “The Weapon” Christopher wrestled with great technique and placed 6th. Larry is showing why he has earned his spot as a Clemente Varsity Captain. The rest of the team – Charles Perdue, Keontay Knox, Kenny Wims, and Nicholas Ramos – gave their all. While they did not win overall, the Clemente Wrestling Team held their own in a challenging tournament and made both Coach Tolene and Coach Bailys proud. The Clemente Wildcats also practiced over winter break in order to be in top form in the new year. Clemente wrestles again January 6th at Little Village High School, and the Wildcats are looking forward to getting back on the mat.
