They say participating in extracurricular activities—sports, clubs, student government, etc—is one of the best ways to make your high school experience a great one. At the Clemente Union League Boys & Girls Club we agree wholeheartedly and are thrilled to be part of the Roberto Clemente Community Academy. This year we are excited to offer over 16 after and before-school clubs that fit almost any interest a student may have. We have Culinary Arts, Bike Club, Homework Club, Media Club, Open Gym, Robotics, Anime Club, Chess Club and Cheer Squad, just to name a few.
In addition to our numerous Clubs, we go on field trips, have access to a camp in Wisconsin and can provide scholarship opportunities and job counseling services. Becoming a Club Member is easy and free! If you are interested in joining or have any questions, please contact Kelly Williams in office 316 or at 773-534-4072.
One recent highlight of our program was our Career Night field trip held on October 8th, 2013. We started the event with a pizza dinner and then headed down to the Club One Union League Boys & Girls Club in the Pilsen community for the event. Clemente Club Members were able to engage in an informative dialogue with a pilot, a judge, a construction worker and an IT consultant to see if any of those careers would be a good fit. All in all it was a great night!
