Lady Wildcats Bring School Spirit to Clemente!
LaQueena Walker (Lady Wildcat Manager)My name is LaQueena Walker and I am a part of the Clemente Lady Wildcats cheer and dance team. I started as a member my freshman year and 4 years later I am a manager. This team has taught me teamwork, dedication and leadership skills. There are about 20 – 30 of us this year and we practice every day, Monday – Friday, because we believe practice makes perfect. Regine Stanford and I are the managers. We are in charge of attendance, uniforms and behavior management. Nichelle McCann and Sierra Young are the captains. They are responsible for choreographing the dances and cheers. We have performed multiple times this year and there is more to come. Come see us perform! GO WILDCATS!Shaneela Aaron (Lady Wildcat)I haven’t been on the Lady Wildcats team for long, but I know that the captains have given their all to be where they are now. When I saw them perform at the Pep Rally I wanted to join. They looked neat and well put together.
Being on the team is kind of tough. I thought just because I had the skills I had what it took to be on the cheer and dance team. But being on the team takes hard work, dedication, heart, spirit and soul. Being on the cheer team is starting to change me a little bit because I was really quiet and stayed to myself and now I’m starting to open up. It’s like a big family. I’m really excited to be a Lady Wildcat for the next 4 years.
