The Clemente Wrestling team competed in a 16-team tournament November 29th at Guerin Prep High School. Our Wildcats ended the day with a 5th place finish from Chris “Mad Dog” Willis, a 3rd place medal from Alex Dejesus, and 2nd place medal at heavy-weight from Alejandro Valencia. Each wrestler worked hard battling through his bracket and displayed courage, sportsmanship, and heart.
The Clemente wrestlers, alongside Head Coach Anthony Pascolla and assistant coaches Matthew Tolene and Brandon Bailys, are working hard on and off the mat—with academics just as important as performance at tournaments. Coach Pascolla states, “Our wrestlers put time and energy into their coursework as well as growing as athletes.” The hardworking wrestlers manage a rigorous practice schedule while also completing study sessions three times a week.
The wrestling season is only just beginning. Come show your support at our next home meet December 16th at 4:30. Clemente will host Dunbar and CVCA. Go Wildcats!
